- Centralized Finance. The opposite of DeFi.
- The term came into use when DeFi was coined. It is mostly used to clarify blockchain or crypto projects that are not really or totally not decentralized. CEXs for instance, like Binance and also Binance (Smart) Chain are part of CeFi due to its permissioned nature.
